Happy Spring my lovelies!
I am so thankful that winter finally gave up it’s hold on the weather! This is my favorite time of the year, when the flowers start blooming and the sun is warm on my shoulders. Like most crafters, the season we are in affects what I want to crochet. Heavy blankets are a bear to crochet in warm weather...I want light and really useful projects to keep me hooking all season long and right into the summer when it’s even more difficult to find a crochet project that won’t overheat me. (I have MS and getting too hot is an issue..more on that in blogs to come) I have rounded up a few things I think are perfect for Spring crocheting….I hope you try them out! xo Melissa
. These coasters are super cute and perfect to catch the drips from your glass of iced tea! (You are drinking iced tea right?) https://theunraveledmitten.com/2018/04/27/spring-bloom-crochet-coaster-pattern/
2. These bracelets are perfect in every color! Make one to match every outfit!
3. I cannot say enough about this bag. I have made several and love the way you can mix and match the colors to make it your own! Also….buttons! Find a gorgeous one and use it for the clasp!
4. I have two sweet nieces that love having ice pops in the summer and I hate wasting paper towels to keep their hands from being frozen, These are great! Make a bunch...everyone is going to want their own. https://theunraveledmitten.com/2017/05/28/freeze-pop-cozy/?utm_medium=social&utm_source=pinterest&utm_campaign=tailwind_tribes&utm_content=tribes
5. I love market bags. I love pretty things. This is both!
6. Personalized keychains. Need I say more? Everyone needs one!
One Round Hearts!

I have to admit, I have no idea what I am doing. I know what I want to do but I am really just over here hoping it turns into everything I can see in my head.
Hello my lovelies! I know it has been awhile since I have posted anything but that is about to change. I am throwing myself headfirst into crochet blogging and hoping that I make this a fun place you want to come back to. I have been hooking and designing market bags like crazy for these past few months. Most of the towns around me are going plastic bag free and a girl can never have too many pretty bags to carry all her treasures around in so I have been making them by the stack.
I have also met some amazing makers on my journey to this page. I cant wait to share them with you! I hope you enjoy this space and stay awhile. Pour a cup of coffee, grab a crochet hook and let’s do this! Xo Melissa
This week I did something I didn’t think I would ever be capable of. I posted a pattern of my own design for sale on Ravelry. Now, if you don’t know what Ravelry is it’s a database of yarn and patterns and all things knit and crochet related and I am selling a pattern there. Me! I am over the moon excited with seeing the photos my testers sent me, making two pattern sales the first night it was live and all the love that is to be had for all things yarn on my Instagram. What a great feeling! Now that I have broken into the world of crochet design I have a few more ideas on my hooks that I will share in the coming weeks. Until then, check out my very first pattern! It’s a cozy slouch hat inspired by my son’s need for a warm head at the bus stop. It’s unisex but not too far on the girly side that guys won’t want to wear it. Hop over and check it out! https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/river-falls-slouch
I have an addiction.
I am addicted to making hats from chunky yarn. Last year was the same! I find a pattern that I love and then I have to make it in every color, every size. Having a fairly large family helps fuel my addiction to chunky hats! I am the oldest of 4 and all but one of us has kids. Every one of them needs a warm hat to get through the long, cold New England winters. (Did I tell you? I live in Massachusetts) This year, I found a hat pattern that I adore, The Oakland Chunky Hat by The Unraveled Mitten. I have made so many so far and we haven’t even gotten a frost yet.
These obsessions make me want to dip my hook in making my own designs..so that when someone asks who designed the amazing hat i have shared on my Instagram feed I can answer ME! Sigh...so many projects I want to start and so little time to get them all figured out. Just like this blog being a new project for me, I am hoping to share patterns and ideas with you someday if you will let me. Thanks for being here!
I have been toying with starting a crochet blog for a while now...my crochet is good enough but is my writing good enough? my personality sparkling enough? my life interesting enough? There is so much self doubt! I suppose I will start small, an introduction here, a funny story there and maybe a picture or twenty.
Let’s get this party started shall we? My name is Melissa and I am URFavoriteHooker. I make string pretty, drink lots of coffee and am just plain ole awesome (my own opinion...lol). I have an amazing husband, a brilliant son and three jerky cats (Steve is the worst). I don’t have a day job, I have MS and I have found my soulcraft in crochet. So come on in, grab a coffee mug and a crochet hook and lets get to know each other.
